Negative experience: If you are looking to hire a PI company to find a loved one, I urge you NOT to hire Investatec Systems LTD. I made an inquiry to Darryl Tedford-owner, to see if he could help me locate my son that has an undiagnosed mental illness, and we are worried sick about him. During the inquiry Darryl assured me he would be able to find him with all the phone records and recent info I had on him even quoting me “If I have to get in the car and drive to Lethbridge myself, I will.” With his assurance I decided to go ahead and pay the $635 that he stated it would cost to start the process. I transferred him the amount owed along with the info I had on my son. He very quickly transferred the amount telling me he would get me an invoice. 12 days later I hadn’t heard a word a decided to see if he required any other info, a day later in a sentence of 13 words he texted me an address. I asked some questions back like if he had been spotted at this address or how long he had been living there, no reply!! 20 days later I texted back with the same questions and asking for an invoice, no answer to my questions but send an invoice with no details on it. For all I know this company went on goggle maps of Lethbridge and picked a random address, which may have taken 45 seconds of his time. Sent the police to this address, no one answered door, my husband and I drove to Lethbridge to scope out the address, no one answered the door. Went to Lethbridge again to scope the address, finally someone was home at this address, this address does not have renters and never did. Contacted Darryl back saying this is not the correct address, no reply!! Three days later texted requesting a refund as this company does not respond to email, texts, or phone calls. Digging further into this company found the same issues with other clients along with a company that subcontracted this company that stated if a licensed agency cannot trust this company how can the general public with no refund and no service. I completely got the wool pulled over my eyes and got scammed by this company along with $635 of my hard-earned money!

Negative experience: Update March 5, 2022 - Hadn't heard a word from Darryl in 10 days prior to posting this review. Upon posting, he called and texted the very next day asking for it to be removed "until this is finished", and that he "would compensate me for my time". I refused to take down the review, it's now been another 2 weeks and I haven't heard a thing from him. Seriously, DO NOT hire this guy. Paid $1,050.00 upfront on December 16, 2021; for purposes of locating an individual that owes me a large sum of money. I already have court judgments and writs of enforcement; literally all I needed was this person located - shouldn't be difficult for a PI. Fast forward 9 weeks and all I have received are 2 personal property registry searches, which I could have had done myself at any registry agent for a lot less than $1000! Darryl is lazy, incompetent, and a terrible communicator. I have asked multiple times for regular updates (weekly), and he goes off the grid for 10 days at a time or longer. When I email him, he gives vague replies with zero results. All he's done is take my money and lie to me, the same as what the person I'm trying to find did. I was very clear when I hired him, that there was a specific timeline in which this individual needed to be located. But 9 weeks in, and I have ZERO results. Do not spend your money on this guy, you will only regret it.

Negative experience: If I could rate with a minus, I would. DO NOT pay upfront. He was incredibly unmotivated and needed constant prodding to deliver a summary in the end of all the information I provided him in the first place. An absolute waste of time and money. I would report him to the BBB as well.

Fantastic experience: The best investigator in Alberta, he's very fast, very responsible and very professional. I do recommend him.

Negative experience: More like a minus one, do not bother with this guy!! Takes your money and does nothing for it!!! If he was registered with BBB I would report him DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY in this guy
